Fall Shoes

I'd have to say that Kiran and I (Carla) share a deep love for shoes. Indeed, just yesterday she texted me to say "Just bought 2 pairs of you boots you would loveeee." At the same time, I feel like after this past  spring/summer when we saw some crazy shoe trends mixed unashamedly with fancy patterned socks popping up all over the street style photos, the shoes for this fall are comparatively lack- luster.

Still, after some browsing on one of my favourite websites (NeimanMarcus.Com) I managed to pick out a few styles that remind me of the more daring aesthetic that ruled the streets earlier this year.

Lets Get Some...

So one of the my many habits whilst putting off school work is checking out Tommy Ton's fantastic street style photos on Style.Com. These photos embody some of the coolest aspects of style--breaking the rules, wearing ridiculous pieces, and being totally fearless.

The cool thing about shoes is that, since they're all the way down on your feet, you can indulge in some of the craziest styles while remaining (if you choose) a little bit more tame on top. (Really, though, opting also for a crazy-fierce bag is usually a good idea. Bonus points of it totally does NOT match your shoes.)

In this spirit, I've sifted through about a thousand current shoe styles to bring you 20 of my favourite ridiculous shoes. I've decided that 2011 is the year I should most definitely start wearing beautiful little pieces of art on my feet. Which ones are your favourites??

A Woman's Right to Shoes

Very little is more exciting than the dress-up opportunities available during the holidays. Christmas and New Years are both fancy dress occasions, and once that's become a little tired (not) we get to throw on some sweats and enjoy the fashion of the Golden Globes, Oscars and Grammys. What a wonderful time of year. To get in the sprit of things, here are some of the shoes I believe should make an appearance under my Christmas tree:

Balmain

Christian Dior

Diego Dolcini

Donna Karan

Emporio Armani

Jean Michel Cazabat

John Galliano

Nicholas Kirkwood

Louboutin Advent Calendar

Counting down the days until Christmas has been made even more fabulous by Mr. Christian Louboutin himself, with the Loubi Advent Calendar, which can be found on the Christian Louboutin website. Visit daily and you can reveal a different Louboutin design. This should keep all of us dreaming about what we'll find on Christmas morning (and in a more practical sense, what we'll be looking out for boxing day shopping!)

As if you needed any extra incentive, Louboutin's website also includes a countdown to the unveiling of his Spring 2011 collection. Christmas miracle? I think so.
